Jim McSherry's debut film, Homeboy, chronicles three former East LA gang members whose lives have always been entrenched in that culture - as they share their dignity in the struggle to leave their violent lives behind through the triumph of the human spirit. The film not only provides insight into a growing problem across the United States, as well as the world, but the opportunity to understand.
