5 November 2022. This tune evaded me for years. I found that the first 4 bars in particular of the first part didn't seem to scan. As if the tune doesn't know whether it's a jig or a slip jig. I mentioned this to a friend one evening who laughed and said he had had similar issues with it. But one day it simply "clicked". His advice was not to force getting the tune but to pay it a visit every now and then and one day it might click for me, too. And he was right.
