What is emotional abuse—and why is it so difficult to recognize, name, and heal from? In this At the Windowsill extended teaching, we explore emotional abuse: what it truly is, how it operates in relationships, and why it leaves deep invisible wounds long after the abuse has ended. Emotional abuse often goes unseen because it does not leave physical marks—but it quietly erodes self-trust, safety, identity, and emotional clarity over time. This teaching is for those who: • Feel confused, exhausted, or diminished in relationships • Were told they were “too sensitive,” “overreacting,” or “the problem” • Experienced chronic invalidation, blame-shifting, or emotional control • Are healing from emotionally abusive, controlling, or manipulative dynamics • Want language for what they lived without exaggeration or shame We discuss: • What emotional abuse is—and what it is not • How emotional abuse works through power, pattern, and erosion of self • Common forms of emotional abuse (gaslighting, withholding, blame-shifting, control) • Why intent does not cancel impact • How emotional abuse affects the nervous system, identity, and faith • Why clarity and truth are essential for healing This teaching is trauma-informed, faith-grounded, and restorative, offering discernment without condemnation. Emotional abuse does not always shout—sometimes it whispers until you forget your own voice. #EmotionalAbuse #EmotionalAbuseAwareness #HealingFromAbuse #InvisibleWounds #AtTheWindowsill #TraumaInformed #EmotionalHealth #Boundaries #Gaslighting #InnerHealing #FaithAndHealing #SpiritualAbuseAwareness #SelfTrust #EmotionalSafety
