(ENG) Showcase is the impact innovation summit organised by the Enterprise for Society Center (E4S), bringing together all actors of society — the academic community, businesses, start-ups, investors, large organizations, NGOs, policy-makers, and civil society — to build a better future for people and the planet. The sixth edition of the summit took place on September 10, 2025, at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne. In this keynote, Abhishek Jain, Director of Green Economy & Impact Innovations at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), shares powerful insights from his work empowering rural communities through clean energy. Through the Powering Livelihoods program, his team has supported 40,000 rural entrepreneurs—many of them women—to adopt decentralized renewable technologies that boost incomes, build resilience, and spark inclusive growth. 🔹 Key Insights: Decentralized energy solutions can increase rural incomes by 30% or more while supporting sustainable development. Access to finance is crucial: over 500 first-time loans, many to women, were unlocked through partnerships with financial institutions. Supporting enterprises and ecosystems together accelerates long-term impact — with over $8 million in commercial financing raised. Small-scale renewable technologies hold the potential to transform 37 million livelihoods in India and create 55 million new jobs across emerging green sectors. The path to sustainability is an economic transformation, not just an environmental one — reimagining energy, materials, and design for the future.
