HACKD comes through with his second addition to the shelves of the library. Rain Dance is a captivating opus of techy Neuro with slight minimal vibes achieved by its clever composition, emphasizing each individual element and letting the smooth sound design punch through. Staying true to the author’s style, this hefty piece features clever use of vocal samples that assure a steady flow alike one of a storm with constant winds of 172km/h. That’s the speed we’re hitting with this one, so take a seat or make some space and start grooving along! Tripon Author’s notes: “Back when I first started work on this track, I had thought to make it a Hurricane Fluttershy song, but there's already been so many so I tried to look for inspiration in something else. And then I started reading To Perytonia, the latest masterpiece from one of my favorite authors, Cloudy Skies. It's so incredible to have another character-driven, season 2 adventure fic from Cloudy and I wanted to do something in homage to it. Yet, it's always a challenge to make a track sincerely "about a fic" when you're lacking the appropriate vocal assets, so I tried to see what I could do with samples from May The Best Pet Win and Hurricane Fluttershy which I think have the closest thematic proximity to the fic. I kept the working title Rain Dance, not just in reference to the literal "rain dance" performed by the great creatures Yelgadar and Odasthan in the tropical rainforest of the Cauldron of Storms, but also in thematic reference to the main plotline of the story: the friendship of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, which continues to grow and thrive despite their many differences.
