Bought a replacement amp from AE Australia - Here's my journey. Owned Audioengine's HD6 HD for around 9+ years. Recently noticed left speaker sounding significantly muted/softer (at 30%~) versus right side speaker. For context this is the "main speaker" where power cable / audio inputs & outputs are located. Things I've tried which yielded no result: 1. Power Cycling - disconnected mains & speaker switch set to "Off" then repower. 2. Switching power plug with my AE S8 Subwoofer (both shares same IEC 320 plug). 3. Using a different source eg: connecting via Bluetooth & 3.5mm audio-in. 4. Switching power source by setting up the HD6s in another room / power outlet / power strip. 5. Toggling PC Audio Balance where 90% audio is played via Left speaker (isn't ideal). Resulted in massive decline in overall volume - muted mid & top range. Reached out to AE - issue was diagnosed as a broken amplifier. Here's my replacement amplifier board - step by step walk through.
