মঞ্জিকার্টের যুদ্ধ ১০৭১ সালের ২৬ অগাস্ট মলাজগির্ট (আধুনিক তুরস্ক) শহরের কাছে সংঘটিত হয়েছিল। এই যুদ্ধে দুই পক্ষে ছিল বাইজেন্টাইন সাম্রাজ্য, যার নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন সম্রাট রোমানোস চতুর্থ, এবং সুলতান আল্প আরসালানের নেতৃত্বে সেলজুক তুর্করা। এই যুদ্ধটি ক্রুসেডের যুগে সংঘটিত হয়, যখন খ্রিস্টান বাইজেন্টাইন এবং বিস্তৃত মুসলিম সেলজুকদের মধ্যে উত্তেজনা ছিল। সেলজুকরা তখন পূর্ব দিকে তাদের সাম্রাজ্য বিস্তৃত করছিল, আর এ নিয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন বাইজেন্টাইনরা তাদের আটকানোর চেষ্টা করছিল। এই উত্তেজনা শেষ পর্যন্ত মঞ্জিকার্টের যুদ্ধে গিয়ে মিলিত হয়। ১০৭১ সালের আগস্টে মঞ্জিকারটের যুদ্ধ সেলজুক তুর্কিদের জন্য শুধু বিজয় ই ডেকে আনেনি। এটা আজ পর্যন্ত ঘটে যাওয়া সমস্ত কিছুর ভাগ্য ঠিক করে দেয় সেদিন। তুর্কি দের জন্য এই যুদ্ধ খুলে দেয় আনাতোলিয়ার দরজা। প্রতি বছর বিশ্বের মুসলিমরা ২৬ আগস্টকে স্মরণ করে বিশেষ একটা কারণে। সেলজুক সুলতান আল্প আরসালান ১০৭১ সালের এই দিনে বাইজেন্টাইন সম্রাট চথুর্ত রোমানস এর বাহিনীকে ধরাশয়ী করে ইতিহাস কে অন্যভাবে লেখেন। যুদ্ধের জায়গা যেটার নাম মঞ্জিকার্ট ,বর্তমান দিনে সেটা তুরস্কের পূর্বে মুস এ অবস্থিত। ইতিহাস নির্ধারণ করে দেয়া কিছু যুদ্ধ যেমন হিত্তিন ও আইন এ জালুতের যুদ্ধ, মঞ্জিকার্টের যুদ্ধও ছিলো এরকম। এই অঞ্চলে কয়েক শতাব্দী ধরে এই যুদ্ধ প্রভাব ফেলেছিলো, আজও যার প্রভাব বিদ্যমান। কিন্তু এই যুদ্ধের প্রভাব অনুধাবন করার আগে সুলতান আল্প আরসালানের জীবন নিরীক্ষা করা দরকার। The Battle of Manzikert took place on 26 August 1071 near the town of Malazgirt (modern Turkey). The two sides in this war were the Byzantine Empire, led by Emperor Romanos IV, and the Seljuk Turks, led by Sultan Alp Arsalan. This battle took place during the era of the Crusades, when there was tension between the Christian Byzantines and the expanding Muslim Seljuks. The Seljuks were expanding their empire eastward, and the Byzantines, worried about this, were trying to stop them. These tensions eventually culminated in the Battle of Manjikart. The Battle of Manjikarot in August 1071 was not just a victory for the Seljuk Turks. It determines the fate of everything that has happened on that day. This war opened the doors of Anatolia for the Turks. Every year Muslims around the world commemorate August 26 for a special reason. Seljuk Sultan Alp Arsalan rewrote history on this day in 1071 by defeating the forces of the Byzantine Emperor Chathurt Roman. The site of the battle, called Manzikert, is located in present-day Mus in eastern Turkey. Some of the battles defined by history such as the Battle of Hittin and Ain A Jalut, the Battle of Manjikart were also like this. This war had an impact on the region for centuries, the effects of which still exist today.
