Meta started defaulting 'Inventory filters' to 'Expanded' as of Feb. 24. Here's what you need to know: When you create a new ad set, inventory filters are now set to expanded by default. However, if you previously selected specific inventory filter levels like 'Moderate' or 'Limited' for your accounts or ad sets, those settings will NOT be changed. The 'Expanded inventory' filter allows your ads to show on all content that adheres to Meta's Content Monetization Policies (This would mean wider reach, while it may include (highly) sensitive content). Inventory filters only apply to in-content ads (Facebook in-stream videos and Ads on Facebook Reels) and Audience Network. TIP: You can set inventory filter settings at the ad account level. This way, you won't have to manually change these filters for all new ad sets. Navigate to 'Brand safety and suitability' in Meta Business Suite and select 'Controls'. Here you will find the option to change the default inventory filter for your ad account to 'Moderate' or 'Limited'.
