Various of rally with crowd wearing green clothes around their hands and foreheads, holding up their hands and making the victory sign STORYLINE: More than 100-thousand opponents of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad defied an Interior Ministry ban and streamed into central Tehran to cheer their pro-reform leader in his first public appearance since controversial elections that he claimed were marred by fraud. Security forces were watching quietly, with shields and batons at their sides. But an AP photographer saw pro-government militia fire at opposition protesters, killing at least one. Monday's outpouring for reformist leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, increased as more poured from buildings and side streets wearing the trademark green of his campaign. The rally followed a decision by Iran's most powerful figure for an investigation into the vote rigging allegations. There was no sign of violence or challenges from security forces. Mousavi who made an appearance despite the ban, paused at the edge of Tehran's Azadi (Freedom) Square - where Ahmadinejad made his first post-election speech - to address the crowd, which was more than five miles (nine kilometres) long. "Our people are after respect, their votes and their right," he said. The march on Monday came hours after Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ordered an examination into Mousavi's claims of vote rigging. Mousavi, who served as prime minister during the 1980s, had earlier threatened to hold a sit-in protest at the mausoleum of the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
