The cleansing rite still held the line, As Kyvin knelt within its sign. The circle hummed within our sight, A fragile wall of living light. The shadows flung their lives away, They smashed themselves in dark display. Yet still we stood to guard the rite, And fed its glow with faith and might. The light stays close when darkness nears, It sings away our doubt and fears. Though night may press and shadows cry, The light still holds—a lullaby. Our blades stood fast, our spells entwined, While song and ward endured and shined. Each note we gave the circle fed, As life returned where death had led. From far away the lich cried out, It clawed the rite with seething doubt. Yet still our song and strength held true, And kept the dark from breaking through. The light stays close when darkness nears, It sings away our doubt and fears. Though night may press and shadows cry, The light still holds—a lullaby. Kyvin bent under rising strain, His breath came short, his pulse in pain. Then from his heart a soft song stirred, A mother’s tune in spirit heard. Her gentle hands on weary ground, She steadied him with touch and sound. Two voices rose to meet that plea, Till song and soul stood fast and free. A holy hymn cut cold and clear, From ancient lips once sworn sincere. Its measured prayer through shadow rang, Where vow and mercy met and sang Then all stood fast in breath and prayer, As faith and song were woven there. His mother, born of living light, Held him close, then slipped from sight. The final note and prayer aligned, The curse gave way, its chains untwined. His heart burned bright with steady light, While distant rage tore through the night. No shadow clung, no whisper stayed, The grasping thread began to fade. What once had bound now fell apart, Unhallowed hands released the heart. The fading tether dimmed from sight, We followed fast through frozen night. Our will held firm, our course now set, Till light and lich at last are met.
