Syria and Russian airforces carried joint airstrikes on Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led rebel groups in Idlib, Hamas and Aleppo. Syrian military officials said that they killed over 320 HTS fighters were killed on December 1. Syrian Arab Army launched a counter-offensive against the HTS fighters after they carried out a surprise attack on the Syrian army in the second-largest city Aleppo.
