To give further service to the Maylands Town Centre and Shopping Area, route 43 deviates via this area in the middle of the day. This is not a scarce deviation, but it is still rather odd considering it does a rectangle with a very short section on Guildford Road, goes somewhere where other routes like 40, 41 and 42 already operate, and comes very close to Maylands Station but doesn't actually go there. In this video we simply ride this deviation and see how it is used, but due to the fact that the front seat was taken, and a passenger was very annoyed at me for filming on the bus, I had to come back several months later and film it again on a B8 instead of B7 (in fact 3380 on its first day in service!) UPDATE APRIL 2024: Please note this video was filmed when this deviation was still operated by route 42 prior to the Bayswater Bus Service changes. As of 22/04/2024, route 43 has now replaced route 42 on this deviation but has reduced the number of services to it. The new route 42 now continues along Guildford Road past Central Avenue and travels down Eighth Avenue before join back with the 43 on Peninsula Road. Filmed on: 16/01/2023 and 10/07/2023 (view from the front of the bus).
