Kia Sportage 2015-2021 oil consumption recall – was there one?

Very often, the TSB number 222 is thought to be the oil consumption recall for almost all Kia Sportage engines. But this is not a recall, this is just the TSB with the recommendations for the technicians in the dealership on what to do when the oil consumption is registered in these vehicles. Unfortunately, this TSB is pretty weird since it advises technicians to clean the combustion chamber. We all know that the oil consumption in Kia vehicles is caused by weak piston rings losing their shape and letting oil come to the combustion chamber. So this is not a recall and Kia isn’t going to pay for this repair unless the vehicle is under warranty.
