Endoscopic management of bariatric complications

Bariatric surgery is a promising therapy for obesity, resulting in drastic weight-loss and a high degree of recovery from obesity-related comorbidities. Although rare, bariatric surgery complications, like staple line leak, fistulas, postoperative bleeding, and stenosis, might be life-threatening if they remain undiagnosed or untreated. Endoscopy enables early diagnosis and timely implementation of treatment, and therefore, it is recommended for managing postoperative bariatric complications over surgical reinterventions. In this regard, Docplexus, together with IAGES, has organized a re-run of the exclusive sessions held at the INDO-UK Surgicon 2020.
