Small-scale tilapia farmers in Negeri Sembilan often face significant hurdles in their biofloc systems. Traditional feeding methods, coupled with limited access to technology and manpower constraints (sometimes just one worker), make consistent feeding and water quality management a real challenge. This project offers a game-changing solution with the introduction of an intelligent feeding system. Sponsored by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), this innovative system integrates IoT-based water quality sensors and YOLO-v8 computer vision. It continuously monitors crucial water parameters like dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, ammonia, and salinity. Furthermore, it utilizes object detection to accurately estimate fish biomass and automatically adjusts feeding schedules. This optimization of feed distribution not only minimizes waste but also significantly reduces the burden of manual labor for farmers.
