Belligerent 25-Year-Old Drives Drunk on the Sidewalk

On September 6, 2024, Lakewood Police Officers responded to a report of a car driving on the sidewalk and on the front lawn of numerous houses. Officer Summerville arrived to find a black Honda parked on the sidewalk with the engine running. The 25-year-old driver was on her phone, seemingly unaware that she was parked on the sidewalk. The woman was asked numerous times to exit her vehicle, but she refused and repeatedly mentioned that she wanted to talk to her lawyer. Eventually, Officer Summerville and Officer Wallace had to extract the woman from the vehicle. An open bottle of vodka and numerous empty alcoholic beverage cans were discovered in the vehicle. She was handcuffed and placed in the back of the patrol car. She then started a belligerent tirade, which included wishing harm on Officer Wallace's immediate family members. The police report indicates she submitted to an evidential breath test at the police station and the result was 0.234% BAC. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI), driving on a sidewalk, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
