Langa Mavuso Performs “Sunday Blues”

Langa Mavuso is a 24-year-old musician and singer songwriter born and raised in Johannesburg. He was born in 1994-01-25 and was given the names Nkosinathi Nhlakanipho Mavuso by his parents. He was raised in Diepkloof Zone 6 Soweto for the first five years of his life and later moved to the southern suburbs of Johannesburg at age six with his mother, father and younger brother. He attended Meredale Primary School from grade 0-7 and later went to the National School of the Arts for high school. He went on to study a BA at Rhodes University for one year where he took the initiative to get formal classical singing training to refine his technique and vocal health. Langa has performed extensively in South Africa at various events, corporates and festivals. He appeared at the Red Bull Brickfields Music Festival 2012 with popular international artist Spoek Mathambo on whose album he currently appears. He was also part of a contemporary music collective known as Soul Sessionz with which he performed extensively for corporate events such the State of Nation Address Gala Dinner 2015, Govan Mbeki Awards 2015 and many other corporate and intimate jazz events around Cape Town. He has released two EPs and single which are all available for online download. Langa is currently working on his debut album and hopes to continue to share music with his supporters and all music lovers.
