I Went On A Real Medieval Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage was an important aspect of Medieval Christian culture. Not everyone went on one, but enough people did for it to be a significant phenomenon. But what was it like to go on a pilgrimage in the Middle Ages? Why did people chose to go, and how did they do it? I decided that the best way to get an idea of what it was like was to do one myself. So join me in this video as I journey from Paris to the shrine of Saint Martin at the popular medieval pilgrimage site of Tours and discuss the experience of the medieval pilgrim.
