Can Medications Reactivate the FMR1 Gene to Reverse Fragile X?

FRAXA's latest research grant goes to Dr. Jeannie Lee and Dr. Hungoo Lee at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. This team is targeting the root cause of Fragile X syndrome: extra DNA (CGG repeats) which shut down a single gene. Using a drug "cocktail" they are able to shrink this extra DNA in cells in their lab! With this new $90,000 FRAXA Fellowship, thanks to major support from The Pierce Family Fragile X Foundation, Drs.
