Stop virtue signalling | Art as a sincere expression of care

In this video I want to talk about virtue signalling. There are a thousand ways to virtue signal, and it's probably not possible to avoid doing so altogether. But it seems to be all we do publicly most of the time. Art (and creating more generally) is a possible exception. When you create something that is meant to be art, or to decorate, you have to decide what it's going to be. That is an act that usually takes caring and sincerity. I think we're getting to a point where we are tired of signalling various virtues, professing to know or think or feel something because it looks good, and we long to get in touch with what we actually care about and sincerely cannot help but believe in. Art is a great exercise in doing just this and just for this reason, it's worth doing beyond approval and what people think.
