After a long time apart, you return to Liyue to visit a certain writer...but when he appears slightly more worn down than usual, you decide to give him some of the attention he so desperately needs...~ The bookworm is back!! Oh my gosh, it's been SO long since I've done a Xingqiu audio! Sorry for the delay! You know, i had originally planned for Xingqiu to be in the last THREE Love Festival linups, but he kept getting just barely beaten out by other characters, or a sheer lack of time...and then i kept changing his scripts around...it was a perfect storm, his absence wasn't planned at all... ^^; Apologies! To be honest, i missed playing him! I'm glad i could finally bring him back for a Love Festival! YOU KNOW WHAT'S SILLY? I've been totally stumped on new audio ideas for Xingqiu (i blame his lack of appearances in-game recently, boooo) but while i was working on THIS audio, i got an idea for ANOTHER Xingqiu audio at long last!! And it's really tasty!! Curses!! If i had better timing, i would have done that audio idea first! ^^; But i suppose that just means you'll get MORE Xingqiu later in the year~ Sorry for being such a scattered writer, and for the Xingqiu fans, sorry for starving you a bit this past year! I'll bring him back for more, please don't worry! ^^ I thought it was a cute idea for you to return to Liyue during Lantern Rite...for the old Xingqiu audio fans, you'll remember he confessed to you during a Lantern Rite, so this feels a little bit like an anniversary! ^v^ How sweet~ It also feels fortunate that this is overlapping with actual Chinese New Year! Yippee!! ^v^ While i was researching Xingqiu's in-game lines for this audio, i discovered he actually complains to you quite a bit about how he does not like having to attend official meetings for his family with fake smiles and entertaining guests...and that he often feels like he has to put on a socially acceptable facade...i don't know, i found that to be a very sweet, very human struggle to have~ The idea of him not wanting to do something, but having to, and smiling through it like it's not that big of a deal...i don't know, it struck a chord with me...maybe because that's basically just the average adult experience...or maybe just the service industry experience...lol either way, it felt relatable and easy to write! Don't lose hope, Xingqiu! ^^ In Xingqiu's in-game lines, he seems to cause other people a lot of trouble and likes playing pranks on his friends, but in his interactions toward you, he seems to always be extremely polite and kind while still maintaining his enthusiasm...i really like this behavioral split between how he treats everyone else versus how he treats you! Those types of things always make me smile~ ^^ I think his behavior towards you mainly stems from the fact that Xingqiu here seems to have a massive amount of respect and admiration for you...and for a lot of people, feelings of admiration are what cause many crushes to form in the first place...~ I think that's really sweet~ ^v^ Setting doki-dokis aside, i was so busy putting the audios together for the festival, i STILL have not played through this year's Lantern Rite event! ;v; Or any of the update, to be honest... ^^; I logged in to take a picture for this audio, and then logged right back out ^^; i'm going to speed-run it as soon as i'm done with the festival...!
