Long made quick and complicated made easy. 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander rear parking brake service mode switch sequence shown here. Just follow this video in real time and you will successfully put your vehicle into service mode too. Or read below. This is how I did it: 1. Key On Engine Off 2. Foot depress brake pedal and hold entire time 3. Apply parking brake by pulling up on the parking brake switch located on the center console 4. Quickly toggle the parking brake switch from release to apply back and fourth until 2 brake lights start flashing on the dash, the message will read parking brake temporarily not available. 5. Finish that sequence by releasing the parking brake by pushing down on the parking brake switch 6. Quickly push the auto hold button 10 times exactly, located directly behind the parking brake switch 7. Push down on the parking brake switch1 time, releasing it once again. 8. The message center will now read Parking brake service required and will be yellow in color. 9.You will hear the rear parking brake motors turning and just wait till they stop turning. 10. Release the brake pedal 11. Turn off the ignition 12. Pop your hood 13. Pull off the air box inlet tube by removing the 2 push pins 14. Pull on the inlet tube where it attaches to the air box and squeeze the bottom and top while wiggling it up and down to release it out of the air box. 15. Disconnect the ground on the battery 16. NOTE: You do not need to turn back the calipers they will simply push back like any old front caliper. 17.SIMPLE to put vehicle back into normal service. 18. Hook up your battery negative 19. Intake inlet back on 20. Key on Engine off 21. Apply the parking brake, pulling up on the switch 22. You will hear you motors spinning again. 23. Lights will go off 24. Back in action you will be DO NOT forget to properly burnish your new brake pads to your rotors. We don't want to ruin our brand new gear down there.
