Introduction to Using Clear Stamps (Everyday Explorer)

Hi, I'm Millie from Mrs. Blackwell's Village Bookshop in Greytown. 👋 We're a New Zealand based retailer for the Everyday Explorer range of clear stamps. I know that clear stamps are new to a lot of people, so in this video I'm going to give you a short introduction and explain how to get creative with clear stamps. This is the cc Save the Date collection. We have 12 different kinds of collections at the store, we focus mostly on the bookish side of the range. When you open it up, there's like a thick side that most of the clear stamps are stuck to and there's a thinner side that peels off. So you take off that thinner side and put that aside for now. I'm going to start by peeling off one of these little frames. This one's designed to look like a notepad, and this is a stretchy piece of acrylic. You take this to one of these little blocks, we sell these little blocks at the store, you see one side is smooth and one side has like a texture on the grid, so you want to use the side that doesn't have the texture, otherwise you'll end up staining that grid with the ink. You place your clear stamp onto the acrylic block. You can put it anywhere, but if you're wanting to be super neat and lined up you would use the grid to line things up perfectly. We also have this range of stamps pads at the store. Sometimes people get a bit confused about why they're so small and that their stamps won't fit on them. But instead of the standard way of taking your stamp and stamping down on the stamp pad, like we're used to doing with rubber stamps, you can take these little small ones and just stamp them all over your acrylic stamp like this. This means that you can have like a whole lot of colours without having to take up a lot of space with really big stamp pads. And then once you've inked up your acrylic stamp, then you can apply it to your journal like a regular rubber stamp. Once you've used the stamp, all you need is a tissue, or a wet wipe kind and you just wipe the ink off and you put it back on the sheet that it came off, it'll stick back onto the sheet. You can use it over and over again, pretty well indefinitely. Just make sure in between colours, in between uses, that you let it dry off. The little stamps can stain a little bit over time. This one's had obviously quite a bit of orange on it, but it doesn't affect the use, it just might be a little bit discoloured. If that bothers you, you can wash it with soap and water, but again, the staining doesn't affect the colours or the usage. Something you can do with this one, which is about saving the date. You've got the days of the month, the numbers, the days of the week, so you can start to layer up the stamps. This might be, let's pretend today is the 2nd of March, and we're wanting to start a journal entry on the top of the page, so we might put the 2nd on here and then we could write in March here. So this is just one way to use the clear stamps. In the shop we have stamps about reading, about keeping a book log. Really you can get quite creative with these and create really unique journal pages. So that was an introduction to the Everyday Explorer's clear stamp range.
