PHO Rounds: Overview of Influenza, COVID-19 and RSV Vaccines for the 2024-25 Respiratory Season

This PHO Rounds will provide an overview of the influenza, COVID-19 and RSV vaccines to be used in the 2024-25 respiratory season. Information on RSV prevention in infants through the introduction of an RSV monoclonal antibody product (nirsevimab) starting this fall will also be summarized. The Rounds will also review the immunization products to be available this fall in Ontario, summarize the evidence supporting their use, and highlight new recommendations and changes to the immunization landscape for the 2024-25 respiratory season. The presentations will be followed by a panel that will include all presenters, in addition to Dr. Daniel Warshafsky, Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, to answer questions from participants. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Describe the immunization products to be available in Ontario in the Fall of 2024 for influenza, COVID-19, and RSV 2. • Summarize NACI’s recommendations and provincial guidance for Ontario’s influenza, COVID-19, and RSV programs 3. • Identify resources to support immunizers in their delivery of Ontario’s influenza, COVID-19, and RSV immunization programs in the Fall of 2024.
