Celebrating 100 years of the sport of Dirt Track/Speedway Motorcycle Racing I am posting this video of a 1930s-1940s 500cc JAP speedway motorcycle racing engine that I'm building up bit by bit. Original components include the rocker box, cylinder head and valves, carburetor, piston, con rod, magneto, magneto chain cover, oil pump and sump cover. Until I find original parts I have fabricated mockups of the engine casings, flywheels, main shafts, pinion gear, cam, cam followers, cam sprocket, magneto platform, rockers, push rods, push rod covers and all the miscellaneous little bits. I live in the USA and it is VERY difficult to find replacement parts for this classic British racing engine. Sources for parts are found primarily in the UK and Australia.
