55.6 g of Licorice root herb freshly made and Organic from eBay was carefully put into a 1 Liter bottom two necked flask with 750 ml of water, 20 g Sodium EDTA (Disodium EDTA), and 10 g of Potassium chloride salt. The idea is EDTA will bind to calcium and iron and thus prevent bacteria from growing also high salt (KCl) may prevent some bacteria growth. Afterward, it will be cooled to 20 deg C filtered and Tween-20 and Glycerol will be added. Colder temps of 0-4 deg C will be helpful in Purifying small particles of debris that Normal filter my miss. Ethanol would be preferred over water but I did not want to use my limited stock of ethanol on this herb I plan to use the ethanol for other herbs.
