There are lots of police medal in India but in this video i have covered some important medals and ribbon that you usually see in the uniform of a police officer these medals are 50th independent anniversary medal Police kathin seva padak also known as police special duty medal Indian Police medal for meritorious service Indian Police medal for gallantry President's police medal for distinguished service President's police medal for gallantry Prime minister's medal for life saving parakram padak also known as Wound medal Antrik suraksha seva padak Out of 9 the 6 most important medals are: 1) 50th independent anniversary medal 2) Police kathin seva padak which is also known as police special duty medal 3) Indian Police medal for meritorious service- this medal is awarded for outstanding devoution to duty and for meritorious record in police service, Indian Police medal for meritorious service is awarded twice a year on the occasion of republic and independence day. 4) Indian Police medal for gallantry - All police personnel irrespective of rank and length of service are eligible for this award, this medal is awarded only for gallantry. It has emblem on one side and gallantry is written on the other side, Recipient of Indian Police medal for gallantry are granted an allowance of Rupees 2000 per month which is paid to them even after their retirement and after his death to his widow, recipient of Indian Police medal for gallantry are Eligible to travel free by train in AC 2 tier or in first class (for that a pass is issues by railway) as well as 75% discount in economy class in the indian airlines (an id card will be issued from indian airlines) apart from this recipient of Indian Police medal for gallantry are. 5) President's police medal for distinguished service - this is the highest service medal in police, it is given to police officers who have very exceptional ability and merit and for their outstanding devoution to duty. Every year 125 President's police medal for distinguished service are awarded on occasion of independence day and republic day. Recipient of President's police medal for distinguished service must be prior recipient of police medal for meritorious service and must have held that medal for atleast 6 years. President's police medal for distinguished service has state emblem of india on one side and 5 point star on the other side. 6) President's police medal for gallantry - President's police medal was estb in 1 march 1951 and originally it was called as president's police and fire service medal. It is the Highest gallantry medal in police, this medal is given regardless of rank and time of service in police. President's police medal for gallantry is awarded for conspicuous gallantry in saving life and property or in preventing crime or arresting criminals and recommendation for President's police medal for gallantry should be sent within one year of occurence of the event, Recipients of President's police medal for gallantry are granted an allowance 6000 per month which is paid to them even after their retirement and after his death to his widow.
