The proper way to use the metronome for working on your time! The way the metronome is most commonly used doesn't actually allow us to gain the ability to be responsible for keeping the time. We tend to rely on listening to the regular clicks to help keep us in time as opposed to being in control of our own independent time feel. These metronome exercises are going to force us to work on our inner clock and our sense of the rhythmic grid. There are so many ways we can place the #metronome in order to work on different time feels. This is an important way to practise because it will improve our overall musicianship. Having good time and an internal sense of the rhythmic grid is an essential skill we need as musicians. What's great is that we can practise with these #exercises while working on various other concepts. This way we are practising several things at once and always working on our #timefeel simultaneously. ▬ Contents of video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - Intro 00:52 - Common Way To Use The Metronome 01:27 - Click Placements (Beat 1 & 3) 01:52 - Swing Feel (Beat 2 & 4) 02:36 - 1 Click Per Bar 03:38 - Click Placed On Upbeats 04:11 - 1 Click Every Two Bars 05:06 - The Rhythmic Grid & Other Beat Divisions 06:15 - Odd Time Signatures 08:43 - Polyrhythmic Groupings 10:01 - Dotted Quarter Notes 11:32 - Groupings For Other Time Signatures 11:52 - Swing Feel Exercise (3 Over 4 On Upbeats) 13:52 - Efficient Practice 14:24 - Don't Rely On Technique To Keep The Time! 14:45 - Outro/Patreon ▬ About Channel ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Hi I'm Robbie, welcome to my channel!
