Complete Nose Job * Pre-Op Consultation - Time Lapse Surgery - Recovery

Throughout the entire nose job experience, there is one step that most people are most inquisitive about, which is the pre-op consultation. In this video, Westlake Plastic Surgery and our wonderful patient will show you what the complete rhinoplasty experience looks like, with a focus on the pre-op consultation, followed by a time-lapse of the procedure, and then finally, the post-op appointment. As with most of our patients, whether for a nose job or for some other procedure, our patient is quite nervous and has brought along her list of questions for Dr. Robert Caridi. She lives close enough to the Westlake Plastic Surgery clinic that she was able to come into the office for her pre-op appointment. However, for those that are from out of town and cannot otherwise make two trips, there is nothing to worry about, because the nose job pre-op consultation can be done through Facetime or some other video software. It is at this rhinoplasty pre-op consultation that Dr. C will inspect your nose out in more detail beyond just the pictures you sent in as part of your initial consultation. He will formulate a detailed surgical plan with you based on what you explain to him that you want for your nose and that he has observed is possible. At the rhinoplasty pre-op consultation with our patient, she tells Dr. C that she had previously broken her nose and noticed that a bump had resulted for it, as well as that she feels that her nose feels crooked in general, that she never liked how the profile view of her nose looked, and that her nose is just not feminine looking to her. Our patient attributes the masculinity of her nose largely to as being inherited from her father and would like a feminine nose that is petite, has a gentle slope and a more refined, less bulbous, tip. Upon Dr. C’s inspection, he notes that the septum is deviated, there is most likely a broken bone, the bones in the bridge are high, the nose is a little bit long as it is bigger in general than it needs to be, the cartilages in the tip are relatively large compared to others, and that her nose flairs in the infratip (on the underside of the tip) area. To fix the patients nose and give her the feminine nose that she wants, Dr. C will make her nose smaller overall, create a little bit more of a slope, reduce the mass of the bridge, reduce the mass and improve the shape of the tip area, slightly rotate the tip and make the bifurcation of the columella more uniform. Upon final inspection of the patient’s nose before the patient’s rhinoplasty surgery, Dr. C states that the patient has a relatively long nose with a small, but not huge, hump, is a little wide around the bridge and nasal bones regions, the tip is not as refined as it could be (including the bifid tip), and that there is quite a bit of internal work that needs to be done to help improve her breathing. As can be seen in a time-lapse of the nose job procedure, Dr. C does extensive work on the internals of the patient’s nose (including her bifid tip), shortens the overall length of the nose, rotates the tip ever so slightly, and smoothens out the tip.
