Your compassion and generosity has resulted in real changes happening in real time - mouths are being fed and lives are being saved! We want to share the news that the queen stray dog of our street named Om Al Sayed who has had about a dozen or so litters over the past five years has been spayed. We had always hoped to get her spayed but she was always pregnant or underweight thus being unable to operate on. Fortunately, we picked her up recently when she was a healthy weight and had just finished breastfeeding her latest litter and took her to the vet for spaying. The operation has gone well and she has stayed in the clinic for about 8 days recovering. She has been fully vaccinated and dewormed as well and we released her to her street to return with her children for 2 days then we took her today back to the vet as she'll stay another 4-6 days till her stitches are fully closed and healed. She is our first stray to be treated in accordance with our Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release (CNVR) program, our commitment to humanely and effectively control and care for our stray population. In addition, we have continued our daily feedings as always, once at morning and once at night for the stray cats and dogs of our area. This consists usually of rice mixed with wet foods of various meats and drinking water. We've also given the first round of deworming tablets for puppies aged 4 and a half months 4 days ago and we will give them the booster dose after 10 days. After that they'll be taking their annual shots to be fully vaccinated. More updates to follow soon, please share this campaign with people you know!
