After spending a few unforgettable days exploring Damascus—the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city—I decided to take a bus to Aleppo, one of Syria’s most historic cities. The journey itself turned out to be an experience. At the bus station, things were chaotic: operators heckling, passengers rushing, and the atmosphere charged with energy. The road took me via Homs, a city that bore the brunt of Syria’s long war and still carries deep scars. Aleppo, once the largest city in Syria and a thriving hub of trade along the Silk Road, has seen centuries of history—from ancient empires to its modern-day struggles. The city’s old souqs, citadel, and neighborhoods were once famous worldwide for their beauty and vibrancy, and even though much has been destroyed, Aleppo’s spirit still survives in its people. This video is about that crazy bus journey from Damascus to Aleppo, the chaos at the station, the long ride through Homs, and finally reaching a city that has lived through history, war, and resilience
