In 2019 a game came out named Outer Wilds which gathered great critical acclaim, but did not get the financial success it deserved for a very long time. There were a bunch of reaons for this. In that same year another game was released named Outer Worlds and that game received way more media attention and due to the similar sounding names, most people forgot about Outer Wilds. It also came out in June which was the time of the E3 and all media ignored most of the releases around those days and instead focused on E3 coverage. Lastly it came out on the EPIC store which also garnered hate by some. But a few years later and the game has received a steady following who recognize the game as the gem it is. And for the longest time I even did not know about it until a friend of mine recommended it to me. And so I decided to take the plunge and dive into the unknown of space. And what an experience it was! Outer Wilds is a beautifully crafted universe where you get to explore and discover it's stories and history at your own leisure. You do this in segments of 22 minutes each time as a timeloop is reset. Though it starts out with quite a bit of information dumping which can result in some confusion, you quickly come across storylines and plot that pull you in and have you wanting to know more. What is this mysterious Eye of the Universe you keep hearing about? How did an ancient civilization that was present in this universe get wiped out? The game is a great homage to the beauty of exploration and doing it at your own pace and leisure. Each planet has different gimmicks and mysterious and it's always a pleasure to go somewhere new and see what incredible sights you get to behold. Outer Wilds truly is an experience unlike many others and by the end I even got quite emotional. I am happy to know that there is still DLC out there waiting for me, so I cannot wait to hop back into my spaceship and continue exploring this beautiful galaxy. #game #gaming #outerwilds
