The making of all the single part give you a good idea why this was the most complikated system of that time. A wheellock was rather expensive but the most reliable and you could use a wheellockpistol from horseback. A matchlock was more or less not usable from horseback so it was not sutable for cavalry use. I can hardly wait to make the lock work for the first time.
