Wild Camp [Bivvy] on Cader Idris with time-lapse and Astrophotography

Cader Idris summit camp, Snowdonia. Many people consider Cader (Cadair) Idris to be Snowdonia’s most beautiful mountain. I don't know about that but I understand the sentiment. It is quite a large mountain with many tops and provides some stunning views over lakes and crags, plus once up high the Mawddach Estuary and Barmouth are visible to the west. The paths climb though woods and past streams and one path at least includes some very nice waterfalls. It certainly is a beautiful area. Having climbed Cader several times from the South via the Minffordd Path this time I decided to ascend from the north via the Pony Path. At the top I had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the landscape while waiting for what I hoped would be a great sunset and a clear sky to take some photos of the Milky Way. It proved to be quite cloudy but eventually the clouds cleared enough to get a view of the Milky Way. Jupiter was by far the brightest object in the sky and can be seen to the left of the milky way in the photos, with Saturn to the left of Jupiter.
