Re:Match Webinar: Data Driven Matching of Refugees and Cities - An Implementation Guide

The Re:Match Implementation Guide streamlines an innovative, data-driven model for relocating refugees directly to cities. This approach aligns refugees’ needs and preferences with local capacities and resources, creating a more participatory and tailored model for admission and distribution. This can enhance reception, improve integration outcomes, and strengthen solidarity in migration and asylum governance. The guide is built upon key learnings from our Re:Match project. Re:Match has piloted this matching-based approach over the past two years. Through Re:Match, 137 displaced Ukrainians were successfully relocated from the EU’s member state Poland to our eight German partner cities, offering a practical demonstration of how EU solidarity can be achieved together with the municipal level.
