Butter Pecan Sauce - this sweet and nutty praline sauce is perfect for drizzling over cakes, waffles, pancakes, ice cream and more. Think pralines and cream! This could even be used as a crunchy pecan praline filling, using a few ingredients and made within half an hour. Ingredients 100g Pecan Nut Pieces (Toasted) 58g Unsalted Butter 100g Light Brown Sugar 1 Tsp Vanilla Paste 120ml Double Cream (Room Temp) Pinch of Salt Method Place the pecan nuts onto a baking sheet, and place in a preheated oven at 180°C (160°C Fan/350°F) for around 6-8mins until toasted. Take out of the oven and allow to cool (the pecans will continue to toast whilst cooling). Once cooled, roughly chop the pecans into small pieces. Set aside. Add the butter and sugar to a non-stick pan on medium heat, and stir/whisk continuously to dissolve the sugar into the butter (around 4-5mins). Once the sugar has dissolved, add the vanilla and a pinch of salt, and continue to stir/whisk vigorously (around 1-2mins). Now add in the room temp double cream and stir/whisk continuously, ensuring the mixture does not bubble over, until fully incorporated and to your desired consistency. Add the toasted pecan nut pieces to the mixture, and coat by stirring for around 30 seconds. Serve over your favourite desserts like cheesecake, ice cream or waffles, and enjoy!
