The successor to the popular 'This Week' current affairs programme (no not that one!); Alastair Burnet presents TV Eye. From BFI: "As ground-launched cruise missiles developed by the US Air force in order to counter the deployment of nuclear missiles by the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe are about to be introduced in Britain, TV EYE has built its own road-mobile cruise missile launcher to show what would happen if there was a nuclear alert and the real weapons set off from Greenham Common (where they will be stored) for their secret launching sites in the English countryside. The programme features interviews with experts and politicians who discuss the dangers and benefits of the new weapon, among whom Stewart Menaul (Air Vice Marshall), Colonel Jonathan Alford (Institute of Strategic Studies), Bill Gunston (missile expert), Frank Barnaby (ex Director of the Stockholm Peace Institute), Owen Greene (nuclear war strategist), Denis Healey MP (Shadow Foreign Minister), Laurence Freedman (Professor of War Studies), Francis Pym (former Foreign Secretary) and Dan Smith (disarmament analyst)."
