The Warriors ~ ALL DELETED SCENES (*2020 UPDATED*)

Deleted scenes from The Warriors 2020 A battle of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The armies of the night number 100,000, they outnumber the police 5 to 1, and tonight they're after the Warriors - a street gang blamed unfairly for a rival gang leader's death. This contemporary action-adventure story takes place at night, underground, in the sub-culture of gang warfare that rages from Coney Island to Manhattan to the Bronx. Members of the Warriors fight for their lives, seek to survive in the urban jungle and learn the meaning of loyalty. This intense and stylized film is a dazzling achievement for cinematographer Andrew Laszlo. A gang called 'The Warriors' are framed for killing a gang leader trying to unite all the gangs in the area. With other gangs gunning for them they must get back alive to the home turf of Coney Island Release date: August 30, 1979 Director: Walter Hill Featured song: Theme From "The Warriors" The Warriors is a 1979 American action film directed by Walter Hill. It is based on Sol Yurick's 1965 novel of the same name, which was, in turn, based on Xenophon's Anabasis. The story centers on a New York City gang who must make an urban journey of 30 miles (48 km), from the north end of The Bronx to their home turf in Coney Island in southern Brooklyn, after they are framed for the murder of a respected gang leader. It was released in the United States on February 9, 1979. Surprisingly in reality on December 8, 1971, the Hoe Avenue peace meeting was an important gathering of New York City gangs in the Bronx. After reports of vandalism and violence, Paramount temporarily halted their advertising campaign and released theater owners from their obligation to show the film. Despite its initially negative reception, The Warriors has since become a cult film, and it has spawned multiple spinoffs, including video games and a comic book series. Michael Beck as Swan, the Warriors' Main Lieutenant (second-in-command) who becomes their new Warlord. James Remar as Ajax, the Warriors' quick-tempered main enforcer. Deborah Van Valkenburgh as Mercy, a hard young woman living in the Orphans' territory, who falls for Swan and joins the Warriors. Marcelino Sánchez as Rembrandt, a Warriors' graffiti artist. David Harris as Cochise, a soldier of the Warriors. Tom McKitterick as Cowboy, a soldier of the Warriors. Brian Tyler as Snow, a heavy muscle of the Warriors and music man, who becomes the new Main Lieutenant. Dorsey Wright as Cleon, the Warriors' Warlord and co-founder. Terry Michos as Vermin, a soldier and co-founder of the Warriors. David Patrick Kelly as Luther, the Warlord of the Rogues. Roger Hill as Cyrus, the Warlord of the Gramercy Riffs, who is murdered by Luther. Edward Sewer as Masai, the Main Lieutenant of the Gramercy Riffs, who becomes the new Warlord following Cyrus' death. Sewer was named in opening credits main cast, closing credits erroneously list Dennis Gregory as Masai. Lynne Thigpen as the radio D.J. who broadcasts reports to the gangs Joel Weiss as Cropsy, the Main Lieutenant of the Rogues. He was credited as "Rogue." Kate Klugman as Star, the Warlord of the Lizzies. She was credited as "Lizzie." Paul Greco as Sully, the Warlord of the Orphans. He was credited as "Orphan." Apache Ramos as Jesse, the Main Lieutenant of the Orphans. He was credited as "Orphan." Konrad Sheehan as Vance, the Warlord of the Punks. He was credited as "Punk" In addition, Thomas G. Waites has a prominent role as Fox, the Warriors' scout, but requested that his name be removed from the credits after a falling out with director Hill. Future Academy Award-winner Mercedes Ruehl briefly appears as the policewoman Chloe who arrests Ajax.
