New Recaro Seats? How to use stock Foxbody Seat Tracks in your Mustang -DIY

I have been running Recaro seats for years in my Foxbody Mustangs. There has recently been limited seat track options which leaves buyers puzzled on how to get them properly bolted into their Fox. With Recaro recently filing for bankruptcy, who knows what the seat giants market will look like in the future. So here is how I use the factory seat tracks on the Recaro's I have sourced from Malaysia. Directions: 1. Cut 1x 2" flat steel 17" long 2. Drill 5/16" holes on either end measuring 16" from center to center 3. Drill 2 more 5/16" holes on either end 1" center to center below the previous holes you made 4. Cut 1x 1.5" flat steel 17" long 5. Drill 5/16" holes on either end measuring 16" from center to center 6. Mount the pieces of flat steel to the bottom of the Recaro using M6 bolts (12mm long) 7. Place your factory Foxxbody seat track on the flat steel so that the adjustment lever is properly located under the bolster. Be sure that the pivot arms on the tracks can move freely and that the mounting holes for where the seat track bolts to the car are 10&5/8" center to center. 8. Protect your seat from sparks and tack weld the tracks to the flat steel 9. Check your measurements and mock the seat in your car to make sure you have your mounting points correct and that the seat track operates correctly. 10. Unbolt the flat steel from the seats, complete the welding of the tracks to the flat steel, let cool, paint as desired to prevent rust and fasten securely to your seats. 11. Bolt in and enjoy.
