It was the product of a recent nut and bolt restoration which is documented from start to finish. The hard photos are organized in a new binder with plastic sleeves that is included. The original owner's manual and a Honda license plate are also included. This motorcycle is in show quality condition throughout. The Honda SL125 Motosport was produced from 1971 to 1975. It is a street –legal, lightweight four-stroke endure motorcycle powered by a 122cc single-cylinder overhead cam engine producing roughly 12 horsepower. It's known for its reliability and 5-speed transmission. It was designed for dual-purpose use featuring a 21” front wheel, 18” rear wheel, high fenders and a top speed of around 70 mph. Honda advertised it as the “perfect size, light and quick”. As this serial tag indicates this example was produced in August of 1972. It was purchased by its previous owner Donald Leavitt who lives in Wrentham, MA. At the time of purchase in March of 2020, the motorcycle was in good condition with only 528 miles on the odometer. The 47 year old motorcycle showed it's age and the engine needed rebuilding. Don had a vision of restoring the motorcycle to showroom condition and committed to the idea with the help of his daughter Ericka Leavitt who was 13 years old at the time. The father and daughter team worked hard and brought the vision to life in 2024. Since completion it was admired as a display piece until it was purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS in February of 2026. MS CLASSIC CARS owner Marc Schiliro reluctantly decided to sell it and March of 2026 is the first time it's been listed for sale. This motorcycle has a clean Massachusetts title. This is a great opportunity! As the restoration photos document this motorcycle was carefully disassembled to the bare frame. The original frame was stripped, prepped and painted black. The original headlight bucket, fuel tank, side covers and fenders were sent to Randy at Marble Motors in Plano, Texas for painting. The 1.9 gallon fuel tank was also cleaned and relined. Everything was professionally refinished in its original color of Metallic Silver. The fuel tank was decorated with the correct style matte black center stripe and red accent stripes which were clear coated over. It was also decorated with Honda badging. The original black side covers were painted silver and decorated with red 125 numbers. The beautiful paintwork was recently detailed to a brilliant shine by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. All of the parts were sent out to be professionally powder coated, zinc plated or chrome plated. The seat retains its original padding and cover but the piece on the bottom of the seat was powder coated. The original 122cc air-cooled 4-stroke OHC single-cylinder engine was sent out to be professionally rebuilt by Ken Cumbus at Cumbus Cycle located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The engine was completely rebuilt and run on an engine test bench to ensure everything worked properly. It's equipped with the original Keihin carburetor, kick starter and the original black-finished upswept exhaust system with chrome heat shield. It' also equipped with a 5-speed chain drive transmission. Some of the new parts include the wiring harness, light bulbs, air filter, battery, mirrors, cables, fuel tank petcock, drum brake pads, chain, rectifier, telescopic front fork tubes and seals along with rear dual shocks. The rims and spokes were also replaced new. The rims are mounted to new Shinko Trail Tire 2.75 -21 on the front and a Shinko Golden Boy Tire 3.50-18 on the rear. An original seldom-seen rear luggage rack was sourced and installed. It was decorated with new stickers throughout. Follow us on social media!
