Welcome to Atomfall! Just dropped into the bizarre and unforgiving Cumbria Quarantine Zone? Feeling a bit lost in the post-nuclear weirdness? We'll guide you through the crucial early steps and core mechanics, ensuring you're not caught out by Atomfall's deliberate strangeness and interwoven systems. 0:00 Intro 1:01 Head to Wyndham First 1:32 Explore Everywhere 2:14 Every Lead Matters 3:01 Talk to everyone 4:07 Supplies are scarce 5:08 Save your bullets 5:38 Plan your loadout carefully 6:10 Set your shortcuts 6:44 Keep eating food 7:10 Keep am eye on status effects 7:38 Manage your heart beat 8:17 Kick them! 8:42 Don't Ignore Traders 10:19 Don't immediately spend you skill points 10:49 How you get skill points 11:08 Skill point recommendations 11:58 Bunker prepping 12:32 Seek out the Metal Detector 12:56 Stealth 14:07 Going loud Here's what you need to know to survive and make the most of your adventure: •Head straight to Windham Village! This is your early game hub for key characters, important locations, and crucial leads to follow. •Explore absolutely everywhere. Atomfall richly rewards curiosity with valuable loot, crafting materials, weapons, recipes, collectibles, unique NPCs, traders, secrets, backstory, and undiscovered locations. •Ammo is precious, so make every shot count! Prioritise stealth, melee, and avoidance over spraying and praying. •Plan your weapon and item loadout carefully. Inventory space is limited, so know your playstyle. •Don't forget to set your d-pad shortcuts! The game doesn't pause when you open your inventory, making quick swaps essential. •Keep that health bar topped up by eating regularly. Health can drop quickly, especially on higher difficulties. •Pay close attention to status effects and deal with them immediately. Bleeding, for example, needs a bandage ASAP. •Manage your heartbeat (stamina)! Sprinting and melee drain it, leading to reduced effectiveness. Use tea to help. •Your kick is more useful than you think! Create space, interrupt enemies, and gain tactical advantages. •Traders are your friends! They offer vital supplies and their stock refreshes, so check in often. Haggle wisely. •Hold onto your skill points until you know what build you're aiming for. They aren't easy to come by. Find training stimulants in bunkers to earn them. •The Interchange is a key early goal. The game itself urges you to seek it out for new leads. •Listen to everyone and read everything! Notes and conversations are packed with valuable clues and can guide your investigation. Remember, there are no unimportant leads. •Scavenge constantly! Supplies are scarce, and crafting materials like cloth, gunpowder, and purple herbs are vital for survival. •A metal detector is your best early friend. Find one in Slatt Andale or trade with Molly to uncover hidden caches. •Avoid large enemy groups early on if you can. Stealth and alternative routes are your allies. •Tall grass and headshots are your friends in combat. Be precise and use cover. •Intimidation can work on melee enemies. Try aiming your weapon at them. •Grenades and Molotovs are great for crowd control. Use them wisely when facing groups. •Bunkers are risky but rewarding. Expect better loot, healing items, and those precious skill point stimulants. •Use pneumatic tubes in old facilities for extra storage, but remember to retrieve your items before leaving! •Understand the bartering system and each trader's preferences (yellow triangles = good, red = bad)! •Consider investing early skill points in Conditioning (health), Survival Charisma (trading), Throwable Radius (ranged), or Kill Momentum (melee) to boost your survivability. By following these tips, you'll be much better equipped to navigate the dangers and unravel the mysteries of Atomfall. Get ready for a unique and challenging experience!
