PANELISTS TULIN CIL Associate Professor, Department of Surgery » Tulin Cil is a co-founder of the Toronto Breast Surgery Collaborative and a breast surgical oncologist at the University Health Network’s (UHN) Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where she holds the Gattuso Chair in Breast Surgical Oncology. Dr. Cil leads a broad research program that spans robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy techniques, the psychosocial impacts of breast cancer, the efficacy of virtual care platforms, global breast surgery and the mechanisms of procedural skill development. DAVID LIM Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery » David Lim is research director of U of T’s Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program and a breast surgical oncologist at Women’s College Hospital, where he serves as medical director of the Henrietta Banting Breast Centre. Dr. Lim’s research focuses on invasive lobular breast carcinoma, examining care disparities, treatment patterns and outcomes using population-based datasets. His interests also include the psychosocial aspects of breast cancer care, including surgical decision-making and patient-reported outcomes. FAHIMA OSMAN Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery » Fahima Osman is a breast surgical oncologist and surgeon-investigator in entrepreneurship and innovation at Women’s College Hospital. She previously served as a breast surgical oncologist at North York General Hospital from 2014 to 2025. Dr. Osman has developed and implemented multiple digital health solutions focused on supporting cancer patients and their oncology teams. She is passionate about driving health system transformation through technology and implementation of innovative programs that improve access to high quality cancer care. AMANDA ROBERTS Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery » Amanda Roberts is the co-founder and director of the Toronto Breast Surgery Collaborative, the program director of U of T’s Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship and a breast surgical oncologist with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s Odette Cancer Program. Dr. Roberts specializes in breast cancer surgery with expertise in integrating reconstructive principles into oncologic procedures to optimize both outcomes and aesthetic results. Her research focuses on breast cancer surgery outcomes, the processes of care and resource utilization to support high-quality, efficient delivery of surgical oncology services. WENDY MESLEY Panel Moderator » Wendy Mesley is an award-winning Canadian journalist and the co-author of the Women of Ill Repute newsletter on Substack. From 1979 to 2021 she worked for CBC News in notable roles, including national correspondent, Friday and Sunday anchor of The National, host of Undercurrents, Disclosure and Marketplace, and host of the Sunday morning talk show The Weekly with Wendy Mesley.
