Visit or contact them and tell them you found out about them through me.) 2022 Isuzu D-Max LS-E 4X4 (RG01) Engine: 3.0-liter Inline-4 Turbodiesel - 4JJ3-TCX 187HP; 450NM Transmission and Drivetrain: 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - Aisin AWR6B45 Rev-Tronic | 4WD Price as tested: Php 1,835,000 Impressions/observations during the test drive: The D-Max and the BT-50 may be mechanically the same (similar engine, etc), but that does not mean that they do not look different from each other. On the outside, this has less chrome compared to the BT-50 which has a lot of it. Instead of chrome, the this has gray details in its exterior design which distinguish it from its twin, the BT-50. Their differences do not end there since the overall design of the two trucks are really different; this is more on the rugged off-road truck vibes, while the BT-50 while still looks the part for a 4X4 - leans a little bit more on the premium side since the Mazda design language is already applied on it. Both trucks look really nice though, and the preference of one over the other is up to one's preferences. Moving over to the inside, its materials feels high quality and durable. For a pick-up truck, the combination of soft touch materials and hard surfaces is actually good. The technology and analog feel in the interior is well-balanced too since there is not too much usage of screen inside. The driver's display (speedometer & tachometer) is analog which is subjectively better than the 2023 Ranger's all-digital display. This is not to say that the interior is outdated, because that is not true since it still has a screen in the center of the dashboard, which although smaller than the Ranger's is capable of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The screen is bigger than the Hilux's and Navara's though. The overall interior design is expectedly similar to its twin BT-50, though with some minor differences. The D-Max replaces the twin's black color with brown, and also adds a covered storage bin on top of the dashboard's center. The Navara has a similar storage, but is not covered like in this truck. Overall, this truck drives just like its mechanical twin, the BT-50 - which is a good thing since that truck is good to drive too. The engine in this truck, being a turbo-diesel is very responsive and fun to accelerate with because huge amounts of its torque is already available at even low-range RPMs. It's also a bit more audible inside which adds more to the sense of speed when accelerating. This makes this truck a probably good highway cruiser, since torque is always available throughout the rev range. The transmission transferring the power to the wheels does its work well enough in automatic mode, and responds nicely in manual mode. The gas and brake pedals of the car are responsive with inputs being received by the car reliably. The brake pedal has some travel (depth of stepping on the pedal) on it before the brake really stops the truck, but that is something that is easy to get used to. Aside that, the brake is good enough for this truck. The D-Max leans more on the usual pick-up truck vibe which is even more obvious with its steering which is considerably weighted. On normal driving such as cruising and accelerating, the steering on this truck is responsive to inputs by the driver and actually has more feedback from the road compared to the Ranger. This makes the truck feel more solid and tightly-put together in general too. The sensors and reverse camera make this truck easier to park. These sensors also sound an alert if there are things close to the truck when driving normally, not just when parking. It also has some other technological features such as the blind-spot monitoring system which makes city driving easy for a truck. On smooth roads, the truck is comfortable with not much road noise heard inside. When traversing rougher terrain though, the surface imperfections are felt but not to the point that it is unbearable already.
