Developing Powerful Tropical Low Forecast to Impact Queensland This Week

The Coral Sea is ramping up in tropical development this morning, with an area of tropical low pressure likely to produce heavy rainfall over the coming few days. There is a significant risk of flooding especially in Far North Queensland, as well as central Queensland if the low can track far enough south. Right now, the rainfall risk is the most substantial risk from the system however this could change. There is also a very active monsoon trough over northwestern Australia, producing heavy rain in the NT and WA.
