Heller's teachings are based on the works of his former teacher and mentor, Don Richardson, an original member of the legendary Group Theatre, which was the nucleus of acting in the United States. Richardson’s fellow students were Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and Uta Hagen. Don was one of the students from the Group Theatre who said, "The Method is NOT what acting is about.” Don's acting technique became a rescue for Brad Heller because despite having a degree in theater from one of the world’s finest theater programs, Boston University School of Theater Arts, and trying multiple acting techniques, Brad could not enjoy the process of acting.
