Reshma, also known as Reshma Aur Sultan, was a Pakistani folk singer and a legendary figure in the Pakistani music industry. She was born on November 15, 1947, in Village Loon Waal in the Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab, Pakistan. Reshma started singing at a young age and gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s with her soulful and emotional voice, which earned her the title of "Queen of Melancholy". Reshma's musical career spanned over five decades, and she recorded over 10,000 songs in Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Saraiki. She was honored with numerous awards, including the Pride of Performance Award from the President of Pakistan and the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from the President of Pakistan. Despite facing numerous challenges and difficulties, including poverty and health issues, Reshma continued to perform and tour until her death on November 13, 2013, at the age of 65. She remains a beloved figure in Pakistani music and her contributions to Pakistani folk music will always be remembered.
