Over 12 000 Azerbaijani civilians, who were brutally murdered, hundreds of burnt houses, thousands of destroyed graves and religious temples are the consequences of the genocide committed by the Armenians since March 1918 against the Azerbaijanis in various districts of Baku province as well as in Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Hajigabul, Salyan, Zangazur, Karabakh, Nakhchivan and other territories. BORIS SIMANDUYEV – CHAIRMAN OF VETERANS COUNCIL OF RED VILLAGE “The genocide committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijanis did not go by Guba district either. They committed massacres in the villages of Guba district as well. In Guba, they killed elderly people and children with a special atrocity, set fire to the villages. Throughout many years, the Armenians living here had been making treacherous plans about their sinister deeds. They committed horrible massacres not only against the Azerbaijani people, but also against all the ethnicities residing in the territory of Azerbaijan including Lezgins, Tats, Jews and others.” Along with killing the civilians, the Armenians also tried to destroy all the historical and cultural monuments. SHARAFADDIN DADASHOV – RESIDENT OF ALPAN VILLAGE “First, these vandals set fire to the mosque. Then, they saw this tomb. After destroying the tomb, they broke the grave stones and fired at them. They were so wild that they even attempted to take revenge on the grave stones.” The mass cemetery discovered in the territory of Guba district in 2007 is the bright example of the terrible atrocities committed by the Armenians. As a result of the archeological research conducted by experts of the National Academy of Sciences, it has become clear that this cemetery is related to the victims of the genocide committed in 1918. GAHRAMAN AGHAYEV – EMPLOYEE OF ARCHEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE “As a result of the archaelogical excavations, two pits and two ditches were discovered. We counted the number of the bones in the ditches. We came to the conclusion that approximately 400 people were buried there.” As a result of the research, it has also become clear that the Armenians used cruel methods to kill innocent people.
