JIYUKA-an Ikenobo Ikebana arrangement

Today I will share with you the joy in arranging flowers using the Ikenobo Ikebana way. The color and shape of the vase is considered part of the composition and motivation in arranging the flowers. It all begins with a single flower or a leaf. Ikebana arrangement is displaying a flower according to the wishes of the beholder. The arranger speaks from the heart as a connection begins when the arrangement begins. My motif for my jiyuka today, jiyuka is free style arrangement, is the color orange. Thus my vases today have orange as its highlight. My flowers, Santan and hibiscus or Gumamela, are also orange. Free style obviously has no defined form. The materials are held in place using a Kenzan or a pin frog. Kenzan has a very critical role of anchoring plants so they stay in place and where an arranger displays the leaf or flower in its most beautiful way. Freestyles creates many possibilities for Ikebana. It can be placed anywhere not like a RIKKA or a SHOKA which are traditionally used in prayer.
