The nitrous bikes came out swinging, and every round felt like a heavyweight bout. Heading into the finale, Tony Patton sat twenty-six points ahead in the championship chase. But drag racing doesn’t hand out easy wins. Patton took an early first-round hit from Gavin McMichael and Most Wanted, but the veteran’s consistent season locked down his second straight Nitrous Bulls championship, finishing forty-seven points clear of the pack. That left the spotlight wide open—and McMichael was ready to steal it. Riding Most Wanted like a man possessed, he mowed down Desmond Spaulding on Mob Ties before rolling into his first final of the year against former class champ Dave Norris and his nitrous beast 2 OGS. When the bulbs dropped, it looked all but over. Most Wanted stumbled off the line while 2 OGS blasted out hard and clean. But in the chaos that defines Nitrous Bulls, nothing’s ever over ‘til the stripe. Just past half-track, 2 OGS suddenly went dark—dead in the water. That’s when McMichael’s machine came back to life, claws out, screaming down the eighth-mile to snatch the win light in the most savage comeback of the season.
