However this is not an ISO diver like the SKX was, as it only has 100m of water resistance, but it does have a hacking and hand winding 4R36 in-house movement, something that fans was craving for years. In spite of the advancement in the movement department dans the multiple colours and variants, this new Seiko 5 series was not well received at first by Seiko fans, as it was seen as replacing the SKX with something that was in some respects inferior at a higher price point.
